Recipe Description

This burger bowl takes everything you love about a classic burger and fries and reimagines it in a fresh, flavor-packed bowl. Crispy oven-baked potato strips take the place of fries, while juicy seared steak, crisp veggies, tangy pickles, and a zippy homemade burger sauce bring it all together—no bun required. It’s a satisfying, customizable meal that hits every craving.

Ingredients

  • 2 medium russet potatoes

  • 1 tablespoon garlic powder

  • 1 teaspoon chili powder

  • 1 pound steak (such as flank or sirloin)

  • 1 tablespoon of your favorite burger seasoning

  • ½ cup mayonnaise

  • 1 tablespoon ketchup

  • 1 teaspoon sriracha

  • 1 teaspoon lemon juice

  • Burger toppings: Cherry tomatoes, shredded lettuce, dill pickles, red onion, shredded cheese

  • Olive oil

  • Salt, pepper

Preparation

  1. Preheat the oven to 450°F.

  2. Scrub the potatoes and cut them into thin strips. Place them in a large bowl and sprinkle with salt, pepper, garlic powder, and chili powder. Drizzle with olive oil and toss well to coat all the potatoes evenly.

  3. Line a large baking sheet with parchment paper. Spread the seasoned potatoes out in a single layer and place them in the oven to bake for about 40 minutes, flipping halfway through if you’d like them extra crispy.

  4. When the potatoes have about 15 minutes left in the oven, take the steak and slice it into thin strips.

  5. Heat a little olive oil in a large pan over medium-high heat. Add the steak to the hot pan and season with the burger seasoning. Sear the steak until browned and cooked to your desired doneness.

  6. While the steak cooks, halve the cherry tomatoes, prepare the shredded lettuce, and slice the dill pickles. If using red onion or cheese, prep those now as well.

  7. To make the sauce, stir together the mayonnaise, ketchup, sriracha, and lemon juice in a small bowl until smooth.

  8. When the fries are golden and crispy and the steak is cooked, assemble your bowl. Drizzle with the burger sauce and enjoy immediately.
